Although most people are opting to adopt rescue dogs, there are still quite a lot of dogs that are left behind. People prefer adopting younger and healthier dogs, which leaves older and disabled rescue dogs behind. Many end up living in animal shelters for the rest of their lives and will never know what it’s like to have a forever home.

Usually, these dogs are euthanized to make room for younger and healthier dogs that have better chances of getting adopted. It’s truly heartbreaking to think that these dogs have so much love to give but never get an opportunity to do so because of their age or disability.

Rocket is a senior dog with several health issues. Because of his age and health problems, most people didn’t want to adopt him. He was already 12 years old when he was rescued, his back legs were paralyzed and he was also blind.

Animal rescuers found Rocket wandering around the streets of Miami, Florida. He was in a pitiful condition and the rescuers thought that no one would want to adopt him. Nobody knows much about Rocket’s past but his rescuers assumed that he once belonged to a family.

After he got old and became disabled, his family likely abandoned him. Rocket’s rescuers were surprised that he survived alone for so long despite his health condition. Rocket may be a resilient dog but he still needed a family to take care of him.

Fortunately, a woman saw beyond Rocket’s age and disabilities and adopted him. The woman knew that Rocket still had so much love to give and he deserved a family that will love him and gives him a comfortable forever home to live out his last years.

Rocket’s personality started to come out after he was adopted. He even has a new dog brother named Joey who welcomed him and took on the role to become his guide around his new home. Rocket’s new mom makes sure that he gets a lot of love by giving him plenty of cuddles and treats.

Despite everything that he’s going through, Rocket remains a sweet and loving dog who melts everyone’s hearts. Here’s a video featuring Rocket’s heartwarming story about getting a second chance and finding the perfect family.
